Dawn Chorus and I

I was listening to Laura Marling’s Ghosts without headphones, my window was open, and I was singing along, and when the song finished I realised that the birds in the brambles and among the rowan berries below were singing louder than ever, singing with me. I never wish to speak again. I wish to sing only, with this voice, that I have been given.
