Paul

Jean-Paul Sartre
was awarded the

1964 Nobel Prize
in Literature but

declined the prize
because he always

refused official distinctions
and did not want to be

“institutionalised”.
It will be at least another

40 years before the world
can wrap its mind around

this fact
and move on:

till then
In the past we watch them

– and how
we laugh! –

well dressed
lingering

administering
clichés.
